Bee
An illustration about pausing, resting, and recharging

This illustration was created as part of an independent assignment where I proposed and executed a personal project using Photoshop. I chose to explore the theme of rest through a subject that is almost always associated with constant motion: the bee.
Bees are often viewed as symbols of hard work and productivity, yet they also need moments of pause. In this piece, I wanted to reimagine the bee not in perpetual motion, but in a quiet, restorative state. The work is a reminder that rest is not weakness. It is what sustains our energy and allows us to continue moving forward.
Even though bees do sleep, just like us, they’re almost always portrayed as constantly working. This piece is a gentle reminder that even the busiest, most dedicated workers need time to pause and recharge.
