Balance Sheet
B2B Web App for Real Estate Asset Management

Product Design
Client: Waypoint
July 2020
This project was part of my freelance work for Waypoint Building Group through Toptal, where I contributed as a product designer on a real estate financial platform. My task was to design a new Balance Sheet feature within the portfolio management system enabling users to easily view and interpret complex financial data like assets, liabilities, and equity.
One of the main challenges was that users input financial data on different cycles (monthly, quarterly, annually), so the interface had to flexibly accommodate that without overwhelming users. I focused on building clear filter controls, flexible table views, and summary cards that surfaced the most critical financial insights at a glance.
Using tools like Sketch, Axure RP, and Whimsical, I led the design process from wireframes to prototypes, working closely with stakeholders and engineers. I created both modal and table views, ran internal usability testing, and iterated based on feedback to increase clarity and reduce friction.
I designed the interface based on the company’s existing style guide to ensure consistency with the broader platform. The final design successfully balanced data complexity with intuitive controls, allowing users to manage their balance sheets more confidently and efficiently.
