Project Overview

Parking Technology Solution: a capstone project while studying at General Assembly, I worked with my classmates to redesign the existing app executing the complete UX design process from start to finish.

As a group of three, our goal for this project is to redesign the Valet app to facilitate and streamline the valet process. We created a project schedule for a 16-day team design sprint. I began by gathering requirements, identifying issues, assigning task owners, and more. The team could easily access, edit, and view progress to ensure we were on track to deliver the project's results.

The process

After gathering the requirements, I began to create an animation that presents an overview of how the app works, emphasizing its ease of use and intuitive design. This part shows the user inputting their location, requesting a valet service, and receiving a quick response regarding their parking spots.

Research
Comparative & Competitor analysis

Initially, we began to focus on identifying and evaluating key competitors in the valet service app market. We aim to understand their strengths, weaknesses, market positioning, feature sets, user interface and experience, pricing strategies, customer reviews, and overall performance

Comparative & Competitor analysis

I then created a customer journey map to provide a visual representation that outlines the complete experience of a user interacting with the app, from initial awareness to long-term usage. It is designed to give insights into the customer's motivations, needs, and pain points at various stages of their interaction with the app.

Wireframes
Sketches & Low-Fi Wireframes

For the initial design phase of the 'Get Valet' app, we sketched designs and created low-fi wireframes to serve as the preliminary visual guide. These lay out the basic structure and components of the app’s user interface, including screen layouts, user interactions, and navigation flow.

High-Fi Wireframes

By following the mood board and style guide, we can establish a visual direction for the high-fidelity wireframes and prototypes, ensuring alignment with the aesthetic and emotional aspects of the product.

After successfully completing the capstone project, I was hired as a UX intern to continue assisting the client. This opportunity allows me to further apply my skills and knowledge in a professional setting, deepening my involvement and contribution to the project's ongoing success. During my two-month tenure as an intern, my main responsibilities included creating prototypes for demonstrations to potential clients, seeking feedback, and improving the overall user experience.
